The yellow line represents grossing games chart position, while blue includes all apps. It took Temple Run 2 the best part of a week to reach #15 in the grossing games rankings, and since then, its position has remained fairly stable.Īnalytics graph showing Temple Run 2's performance on the US Google Play's top grossing charts. However, Temple Run 2's performance in the top grossing games chart for Android has been a less impressive. On Android, it took Temple Run 2 little more than a day to top the download charts on Google Play, and Imangi's latest has been at #1 ever since. But given Temple Run 2's status as the fastest growing mobile game of all time, it's interesting to observe that the game is still being out-earned.Īs we looked at last week, there are some key differences between games in terms of their ' monetisation density'. Since then, Temple Run 2's position in the top grossing games chart has been slipping, and it currently stands at #8, behind the likes of Candy Crush Saga, Rage of Bahamut and Hay Day.Īnalytics graph showing Temple Run 2's performance on the US App Store's top free games chart. Supercell's PVP city-builder has a deeply engaged and loyal audience, so it's unsurprising that Temple Run 2 was unable to dislodge it from the top-spot. In the days that followed, the game climbed as high as #2 in said charts, but was rebuffed time and again by the all-powerful Clash of Clans. Within hours of launch, Temple Run 2 had climbed to #12 in the US App Store's top grossing games chart for iPhone. The game has topped the download charts on the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore since its release on 17 January, but its performance on the grossing charts hasn't been quite so strong. In fact, the free-to-play title generated downloads at such a pace that Imangi Studios declared Temple Run 2 the "fastest growing mobile game" of all time. I hope you take this into consideration.Within 13 days of launch, Temple Run 2 had accumulated more than 50 million downloads worldwide. The main point is: stop updating it to make it easier to unlock things. Also the giant demon monkey can run on thin air. It just breaks the flow of the game in my opinion. The updates also make me have to repeatedly tap all these chests to play again after getting stopped. Also the default map in summer is Frozen Shadows which shouldn't be the case, and we should have the option to default it to Sky Summit or something on older hardware. When I first played the game it was rare that I'd find a gem and chests were practically impossible to come across, and all these tokens of Indian people don't make any sense. It can still run on my iPad 2 (not sure about 3) after the initial loading screen (on Sky Summit I have experienced lag issues on the seasonal ones lately), which is a good sign that the developers are considerate enough to acknowledge compatibility, but the updates have made gems and chests too common. It's a solid game, I'll give it that, but these updates and events have made everything cluttered. I am carrying on playing this game and hope to see more updates in the future. Seen as you don’t need WiFi or data to play it, it’s a good game to play in the car for example. Overall, I really rate this game and would recommend it. Like, the difference in seasons to match the day to day seasons are great and quite accurate but when your playing the game, there isn’t much difference as the one before the update. The only reason why I haven’t rated it five stars is that every time there is a seasonal update, the gameplay doesn’t vary that much. I like the modern set up of it and I like how they’ve done that. The reason is, is that I love playing this game. So, I rated Temple Run 2: four stars out of five. When I downloaded it, it gave me some nostalgia to when I played it with my sister and I liked that. Today though I have re downloaded it and I loved the modern set up and it is completely different to what it was like when me and my sister played it on our iPads. I then deleted it because there was maybe more modern games to play. We went on to play it on your phones when we was a bit older. I remember how exited we was when the second of came out and we downloaded straight away, and because it was new and fresh we throughly enjoyed when we was playing. We used to always play the first Temple Run which we loved. I remember me and my sister playing on our iPads. I used to play this game as a young child.
